HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Description
Learn to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
Suitable for anyone who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including workplace, community and public settings.
Location:
Kirwan, Townsville – or onsite at your workplace (group bookings, minimum numbers apply, please contact us for a quote)
Duration:
Pre-course Registration/eLearning + approx 1.25 hrs in the training room

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements:
Participants will require suitable LL & N skills to complete the following tasks/skills:
- Read information from a PowerPoint and whiteboard
- Complete online Registration and eLearning
- Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English
Prerequisites:
Participants must be 14 years old to be issued a Statement of Attainment. Students under 14 can attend, with a Certificate of Attendance issued. Please contact us for more information.
Candidates must be able to perform CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. No exceptions.
Assessment procedure:
Theory assessment and practical demonstrations.
Requirements for Completion:
100% attendance and participation.
Outcome:
At the successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment valid for 12 months. CPR is recommended to updated annually.
Certificate will be emailed to the student as soon as practicable upon course completion, usually within 12 hours.

- Responding to an Emergency Situation; CPR on adults and babies; Chain of Survival; DRSABCD; Duty of Care; own Limitations; Consent; Use of Defibrillators; Accident/Incident Report Forms; Unconsciousness; Confidentiality; Debriefing & Stress Management; Respectful behaviour, and Legal, Workplace and Community considerations.
